April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day. World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) aims to put a spotlight on the hurdles that people with autism and others living with autism face every day.
The theme of World Autism Awareness Day this year is “Advancing Neurodiversity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” This theme focuses the significance of acknowledging and promoting neurodiversity while cordinating initiatives with the larger sustainable development objectives established by the United Nations.

Autism spectrum disorder is a condition that affects how the brain functions. It affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people. It also affects how they make sense of the world around them.
World Autism Awareness Day goes further to celebrate the unique talents of those with autism.
