Fibroid is a benign tumour of muscular and fibrous tissues, typically developing in the wall of the uterus.
Many women are unaware they have fibroids because they don’t have symptoms. Women who do have symptoms (around 1 in 3) may experience:
- Heavy periods or painful periods
- Abdominal pain
- Lower back pain
- Constipation
- Pain or discomfort during sex
- A frequent need to urinate
