So I’m celebrating Hillary Clinton today. A remarkable woman who is a huge inspiration to me. Hilary Clinton was born in Chicago, Illinois on the 26th October 1947. Hillary is an American politician who was the 67th United States Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. Hillary was the First lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001 and then a U.S Senator from 2001 to 2009.

In 2016, she became the first woman in U.S history to become the Presidential nominee of a major political party. In 1995, Hillary led the U.S delegation at the U.N Fourth World Conference on women in Beijing. When she was First lady, Hillary won the 1997 Grammy for best spoken word album for the audio version of her book “It takes a village”. Hillary made advancing the status of women and girls around the world a core part of U.S foreign policy, working to bring down the barriers that stop women and girls from reaching their potential. During her term, as the 67th U.S Secretary of State, she used her position to make women’s rights and human rights a central talking point of U.S initiatives.

Hillary was the first, First lady to win A Grammy Award. Hillary Clinton has been given many awards and honours. In 1994, Hillary received the Living Legacy Award from the Women’s International Centre, In recognition of “her vast contributions in so many fields, especially honouring her work for women and children.
