So I’m celebrating Olajumoke Adenowo today. An outstanding woman who is a huge inspiration to me. An award-winning Nigerian architect, entrepreneur, a speaker, author and philanthropist.
Olajumoke was born on the 16th of October 1968 in Ibadan, Nigeria. Olajumoke studied Architecture from the age of 14 at the Obafemi Awolowo University, graduating with a Bsc (Hons) in Architecture and the coveted faculty prize in 1988. She subsequently obtained the first distinction in the Msc. Architecture (an all A average) in the history of the University. Olajumoke worked on the Federal Ministry of Finance project in Abuja at the age of 23. Olajumoke also ran an oil & gas firm, Advantage Energy, and runs a property management firm, Advantage Energy.
Olajumoke founded her own boutique architecture and interior design firm in 1994, AD Consulting when she was only 26 years old. AD’s client include the World’s strongest brands like Coca-cola and L’oreal. Olajumoke founded Awesome Treasure Foundation in 1999 to raise transformational leaders. The NGO has raised hundreds of entrepreneurs with notable success. Olajumoke has received several awards for her Architecture and Philanthropy, including an award from The International Alliance for Women, the Rare Gems 2007 Award, which is awarded by the Women’s Optimum Development Foundation (WODEF) and the United Nations Information Centre (UNIFEM).
Olajumoke Was nominated at the CNBC All Africa Business Leaders Awards in the West African Business Woman of The Year award category for her work with women empowerment and several other awards. Olajumoke was featured in the World’s foremost Architectural Journal; Architectural Record and has spoken on several platforms including the Global Women’s Forum and Harvard Business School (African Business Club). She hosts a Syndicated Radio show on Leadership “Voice of Change”. CNN described Olajumoke as “Africa’s Starchitect” and The Guardian (Nigeria) described her as “The face of Architecture in Nigeria”
She is truly a source of inspiration and a phenomenal woman!
