Tara Fela-Durotoye

I’m celebrating Tara Fela-Durotoye today.  An amazing woman who is a huge inspiration to me. A makeup artist and lawyer. A pioneer in the bridal makeup profession in Nigeria.

Tara was born on 6 March, 1977 in Lagos, Nigeria. She graduated from the Lagos State University with a degree in Law and proceeded to establish the House of Tara International. She started House of Tara at the age of 20, from her living room, whilst an undergraduate at university back in 1998.

Tara is the founder and CEO of House of Tara International and creator of the Tara Orekelewa Beauty range. She launched the first bridal directory in 1999, set up international standard makeup studios and established the first makeup school in Nigeria. In 2007, Tara was awarded the Africa SMME Award and the Entrepreneur award in South Africa. In 2013, Forbes listed her as one “20 Young Power Women in Africa”.

She is truly a source of inspiration and a phenomenal woman!

    Tara Fela-Durotoye.
A lady whom started her business small and grows it into this international brand we all have come to identify with. she had a dream: she worked on it; she improved herself with the industry; she still works like her business is yet to get there….
humble is a great access I notice with her attitude towards business development and human development and always hungry for new/ latest inventions.
Young Nigerians should learn from Tara Fela-Durotoye’s business sense
