I’m celebrating Tope Alabi today. An outstanding woman who is a huge inspiration to me. A gospel singer and a film music composer.
Tope Alabi was born on 27 October, 1970 in Lagos, Nigeria. During her secondary school days, her interest in music and drama led her to join “Jesters International” group at Ibadan, there she got her initial training and experience in drama. She graduated from the Polytechnic of Ibadan with a degree in Mass Communication. She worked with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Ibadan as a correspondent.
Tope Alabi came back in to the theatre Art profession as she joined the prestigious “Alade Aromire Theatre Group” in 1994. There, she was able to distinguish herself as a gifted and talented actress and singer. Tope was exposed to all the core area of drama and acting profession. She was involved in various film productions, stage drama and most importantly the soundtrack production with which she is now well-known. Tope has been invited by various writers, producers and directors in the Yoruba movie industry to write and perform sound tracks for their various movies.
She is truly a source of inspiration and a phenomenal woman!
